Chip and Debris Removal in Upper Arlington
(380) 233-8808
Grinding the stump is one thing. What you do with the pile of chips and sawdust left behind is another. We make that part easy too.
What Chip Removal Includes
When we grind a stump, we produce a pile of wood material ranging from fine sawdust to larger chips. Depending on the size of your stump, that pile can be significant.
Our chip removal service means:
- All grindings are gathered and loaded for removal
- The work area is raked and leveled
- Any stray chips in surrounding grass or beds are cleared
- The ground is left smooth and ready for your next step
- Nothing is left for you to haul, bag, or deal with
What Should You Do With the Wood Chips After Grinding?
After we grind your stump, you will have a pile of wood chips and loosened soil where the stump used to be. The pile is bigger than most people expect — a 20-inch stump can produce a surprising amount of material. You have two good options, and neither one is wrong.
Keep the chips and use them as mulch.
Fresh wood chip grindings make excellent mulch for garden beds, around trees, or along pathways. They break down over time, add organic material back into the soil, and help retain moisture during dry stretches — which Upper Arlington yards can definitely use in July and August. Just keep them a few inches away from plant stems and foundation edges, and you are good.
Have us haul everything away.
If your goal is a clean, ready-to-use surface — whether you are seeding grass, laying sod, installing a patio, or starting a landscaping project — hauling is the right call. We bag and remove every chip and particle before we leave. What you get is level ground with nothing left to deal with. No pile to move, no wheelbarrow trips, no wondering what to do with it later.
Not sure which way to go? A good rule of thumb: if you have garden beds that could use refreshing, keep the chips. If your next step involves planting or building, have us take them.
